It’s been a long drawn-struggle to find an importer. There’s a hope that it will appear soon in Harvey Nichols shops, but it isn’t yet listed on their website. I suspect we may have to wait until the 2011 vintage is in bottle – after Christmas.

I would like to know where I can purchase Coste Brulade. I was at the wine tasting at Linden Hall but have never seen it since.

Hi Michael, I got onto Sainsbury’s and their advice to you is to “please call our customer care line on 0800 636 262 for stockist information.” The wine ought to be easy to find – I’ve just had another promotional from them about the offer. Please get back to me if the magic number doesn’t bear fruit.

My wife Alex and I attended this evening and can confirm it was a tremendous success. We were pleased and delighted at how successful the wine and food matching turned out to be. We have since returned to the Golden Swallow on our own for another treat!

Have you tasted the Côtes du Brulhois? It’s a VDQS, not a full AOC, but Jean and I have had some very nice wines there and the quality and style overlaps with Cahors, which is 75km north east, and as you would expect the prices are lower. We went (I think) to the Cave de Donzac, see http://www.cave-de-donzac.com/ for more information.
